Labor Day weekend was positively wonderful this year. First, it was great just to be together since we had been apart last year at this time. Most of all, it was nice because we didn't do much actual labor, which is unusual for us around this old house.
Saturday, we went hiking at Rowe Woods and had a nice picnic lunch at an old cabin along the trail. V hiked a good portion of it and did really well. She's getting so big! We went to the flea market on Sunday morning and got a few cute finds, including a baby doll bed that we dressed up for V.
The highlight of the weekend was going down to friends' of Grandma and Papaw's for their annual camp out. We had never been down to "the river" and were kicking ourselves for not coming before. The place is absolutely beautiful. The kids had a blast getting muddy in the creek, riding the quad with Papaw, playing in the tent with Grandma, and conning the other campers into giving them marshmallows and cookies, listening to music, and watching the bonfire. We're definitely going to bring the tent and camp next time.
What a great weekend!
