Last weekend, we camped out in the wild of our backyard. We had never taken V camping and she is a very light sleeper, so we thought this would be a good way to ease her into it and provide an easy escape route for us.
We built a nice little fire and roasted marshmallows, which J and V went crazy for. They were sticky, hyper and happy. The tent was a big hit with all the kids. They spent a good hour bouncing from one end to another on the air mattresses. V lasted until 9:45 in the tent, but just could not get settled. I retreated inside with her while the boys braved the "wild" for the night. We'll try again in a few weeks, but we'll probably cap the marshmallow intake.
