I cannot believe our baby girl is 2. We’ve had this little bundle of sweetness and sass for 2 years. 2!
We celebrated, really late this year – 6 weeks late. I like the idea of getting a few weeks away from the Christmas holidays, but then family schedules became a challengen issue. It was a heart theme and ended up a week AFTER Valentine’s day, but my girl loves hearts right now, so we stuck with it.
V received several great gifts, but the biggest hit was a doctor kit from cousin K. Pretty much everyone got a complete physical, and we had to tear V away from it to open the rest of the gifts. Grammy knit her a beautiful yellow, wrap-around sweater. It’s so sweet and I’m so touched by the fact that she went to all of that effort. Knitting a sweater is not easy and I know Grammy is very busy, so this was definitely a labor of love. While V cannot yet appreciate it, I plan to hang onto it until she can. There is nothing better than hand made by a loved one. Nothing.
I overdid it on the sweets, but this is probably why J and C said this was “the best party ever!” I figure that the kids barely ever get candy, so why not do it up on special occasions. Oh, and making the cake was quite the fiasco and involved two tries. It turns out that you cannot bake cakes with Splenda, but Daddy made both with love and a lot of patience.
Of course, all that really mattered was that the guest of honor had a wonderful celebration and I’m pretty darn positive that she did. Happy birthday, baby girl. You are the best surprise ever.
And here are way too many pics, but there were just so many cutes ones that I couldn't narrow it down any further.

Adorable! Love all the goodies - HFCS and all. ;) I couldn't have omitted any of these pics either, but I especially adore the one of her sizing up her unlit cake and the one of big brother's triple decker.
She's beautiful, KaRene! I can't believe she's 2 already.
