We celebrated Memorial Day at Tony and Nancy's river paradise with Grandma, Papaw (and about 40 others friends). J and V spent most of their time covered in mud, so they were thrilled beyond comprehension. It was our first camping experience with both kids (not including the backyard). I was a little worried about the kids sleeping while the party rolled on into the night, but they both did did great. The fact that they played non-stop and didn't go to bed until 10:30 with a bell full of smores probably helped.
Java was in water-dog heaven. She spent 5 hours in the river on Sunday and could barely move on Monday, but I could tell she thought the trade off was perfectly acceptable. We also got to see Cousin D, Uncle P, Aunt S and Aunt J, too, so it was just a great get together full of family and fun. Cousin D and J got to play in the river for a few hours together and were complete boys. Cannot wait to do it again!
